LOTR Abridged
Design, 2010

LOTR Abridged examines the relationship of film and photography. The movie Lord of the Rings is broken down and exported to jpegs. (1 per second equaling a total number of approximately 11,000 jpegs per movie). Then reassembled using a photo merging technique called HDR. Letting the computer determine the most important information then ultimately being compressed into one final image. This project explores the core of the visual narrative and tries to see if color tells the same story.
